2024 Spring Tournament – Raintree

AKRON, Ohio (May 9, 2024) –The Second Annual Spring Golf Tournament hosted by First Tee – Greater Akron was held this past Sunday, May 5 at Raintree Golf & Event Center. Forty participants registered for the 9-hole tournament. There were three age-based boys and girls divisions that competed throughout the day with the 7–9-year-old division slotted as co-ed.

“We are always looking for opportunities for our participants to get more tournament and golf experience,” said Mike Clark, Tournament Director, and First Tee’s Program Director. The tournament was open to current 2024 First Tee – Greater Akron participants.

Weather played a part in the tournament with sprinkles, downpours, and faraway thunder keeping everyone, even spectators, on their toes. But in the end, the weather broke, and the day ended with the sun shining while the awards were presented. “The participants made lemonade out of lemons as they played through the rain. We like that they got an honest example of how golf tournaments are played,” Clark commented.

The next tournament in the series is planned for July 21 at Mud Run Golf Course & Driving Range.
