8th Annual Putting with Police Event Brings Together 308 Youth and Local Law Enforcement for a Day of Fun, Learning, and Community Connection
AKRON, Ohio (July 10, 2025) – First Tee – Greater Akron, in partnership with presenting sponsor Kaulig Giving, along with the Rotary Club of Akron, the Akron Bar Foundation, and Education Revolution Association, proudly hosted the 8th Annual Law Enforcement Education Day – Putting with Police on Thursday, July 10, at Mud Run Golf Course & Driving Range.
This signature event fosters positive, fun, and educational interactions between local youth and law enforcement, breaking down barriers and building trust through shared experiences and community connection.
A record-breaking 308 local kids and teens participated in this year’s event – our largest turnout to date! Youth engaged with officers from 11 local agencies while enjoying an action-packed day featuring: golf games, golf cart rides, a dunk tank, the Cleveland Monsters and Cleveland Charge mascots, a gaming truck, a magician, a live DJ, Kona Ice, ice cream from the Huntington Treat Truck, and slices of pizza generously donated by LeeAngelo’s.
We were honored to welcome representatives from the following agencies: Akron Fire, Akron Police, Bath PD, Copley PD, Cuyahoga Falls PD, Hudson PD, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Springfield PD, Stow PD, Summa Health PD, and the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.
Special thanks to Matt Kaulig, Akron Mayor Shammas Malik, Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich, Councilwoman Tina Boyes, and Browns legend Hanford Dixon for taking time to support this impactful day.
