Tiretown Scholarship Fund

Tiretown Golf Club and Tiretown Golf Charities, with its more than 200 members, are providing scholarships for young men and women of color to participate in the various classes at First Tee – Greater Akron at Mud Run Golf Course.

So far this year, Tiretown has provided 43 scholarships for First Tee participants. In addition, we contribute to several service organizations to assist them with their scholarship efforts involving First Tee and other charitable organizations.

Tiretown members serve as mentors and coaches for First Tee – Greater Akron. We also partner with the Akron NAACP and Akron Urban League, both of which benefit from our growing scholastic scholarship program.

With the help of First Tee – Greater Akron, we will host the Tiretown Junior Golf Club fundraiser on September 17 at Mud Run Golf Course. The proceeds from the event help fund our First Tee scholarship program, which is an avenue to prepare our First Tee participants for both on-course competition and life away from the game.

First Tee applications are available prior to each of the four sessions during the year. Also, scholarship applicants are welcome to apply for membership with Tiretown Junior Golf Club.
